Richard Mattingly is a guitarist/multi-instrumentalist born and raised in the heart of the bluegrass. Born to perform, his first public performance was at the tender age of 5 years in his Catholic school talent contest. He started his formal music education that same year when he began playing clarinet. At the age of 10 he began his life long love affair with the electric guitar. starting what would end up being 8 years of instruction with legendary jazz guitarist Dusty Paling. For the rest of his school career he could be counted on to be featured in every talent show that he could enter. At the age of 16, he played his first professional show at a VFW in rural Kentucky.
The ensuing years found Rich performing with his own "Victor Regence Band" As well as the "Jose Jaurez Band". In the early 00's Rich joined "Ron Harris and the Knott Brothers" He performed all over the country with them until their disbanding due to Ron's death. Rich Has been a fixture of on the central Kentucky blues scene for the last 15 years. His soulful vocal stylings and pure electric guitar tone set him apart from the crowd.
He enjoys collecting a wide variety of music and reading.
