Born in Rhode Island in the early seventies, Erik became an early fan of music and especially drums. "Before I could see over the top of our console stereo, guess I was 3 and a half to four years old, I would use an ottoman so I could reach to put on another record. I had the tone, volume and other dials memorized so I could adjust them without the lift up. I would spend hours listening." When the opportunity came to join the school band there was no choice to make. Drums.
He learned to play in the public school bands and discovered a natural talent for the percussive arts. His musical taste began to blossom, listening to anything from pop and rap to orchestral and jazz. Erik eventually went on to study music at the University of Kentucky and continued to expand his musical preferences.
Performing since age 15, Erik has played in numerous acts of all genres. He has performed with artists and groups as varied as Big Bill Morganfield (son of the legendary Muddy Waters), Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corp, and Henry Mancini. He is currently the drummer for Paid Records recording artists Harmonica Red and the New Heard, Balishagg and now Soul Funkin Dangerous. "I'm excited about playing with these cats. Funk in the pocket!"
